Product Composition



This composition contains ketoconazole and zinc Pyrithione which are used together for the treatment of dandruff. It works by destroying the cell membrane of the fungi which is responsible for creating dandruff.

About Composition:

Ketoconazole belongs to the imidazole class of antifungal drugs. It is used for the treatment of fungal infections. It has broad spectrum activity and has better absorption.

Zinc Pyrithione has several properties such as anti-bacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal. It is used mostly for the treatment of seborrheic dermatitis and acne, dandruff.



Mechanism of Action

Ketoconazole binds with the 14-alpha demethylase which involves in the synthesis of ergosterol by acting on the lanosterol thus increases the fluidity of the membrane and causes impairment in the membrane.
Zinc Pyrithione works by increasing the copper levels and diminish iron-sulphur clusters of proteins in the fungal cell membrane thus decreases fungal metabolism.
